Michael Costa, L.Ac

Michael Costa is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the state of California. As the founder of Costa Acupuncture, he is dedicated to providing access to affordable care to everyone.

Michael commonly helps people with chronic or acute pain, digestive disorders, infertility, addiction recovery, hormonal imbalances and stress management through acupuncture, chi kung and herbal medicine.

He graduated with Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and Masters in Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.

Michael is a certified Shiatsu Specialist and Shiatsu Instructor and he is student of the internal healing arts of Chi Gong and Tai Chi since 1997.

He is also currently on staff at Passages Malibu Addiction Cure Center, a residential treatment facility.

Carol Song, L.Ac.

Carol is a licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in the state of California and is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Carol completed her Master's in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Emperor's College in Santa Monica, where she graduated summa cum laude. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Carol worked for a decade in social activism with community organizations in San Diego, the Bay Area, Los Angeles and Seoul.

Before then, her education included a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Women's Studies from UCSD and a Master's degree in Sociology from UCLA.

Carol has extensive experience working with couples trying to conceive. She is certified to treat women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures, and she clinically trained a team of practitioners to provide acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer. Carol has also specialized in treating male factor infertility.

In addition to being an acupuncturist, Carol is a yoga instructor and co-produced and created Restoring Fertility, a 4-part yoga DVD series for enhancing fertility. Carol is committed to the Community Acupuncture model of providing high-quality, affordable health care in community settings.

She has studied acupuncture with Jeffrey Yuen and Kiiko Matsumoto and yoga with Ana Forrest. She is inspired by the spiritual teachings of Nisargadatta and Ramana Maharshi and the social philosophy of Erich Fromm.
